The natural affinity of my skin is to tan. I have never had an issue with sunburn. However, now I have a small issue with sunburn as I get older and also my child seems to burn more easily than I used to as a child. To combat this issue I took to the Internet and did some research.
For the past several years I have been involved in research of natural products and herbs for all kinds of ailments. I have found nourishing infusions that I take daily to improve my overall health. I have also cured my own bladder infection, made my own lip balm (that works better than any other that I have purchased), salves for pain and for torn ligaments. I have had positive results with everything I have made from natural ingredients.
Now I would like to share a recipe for sunburn.
All of the ingredients can be found on the Internet.
4 oz Aloe Vera Gel
15 drops Lavender essential oil
10 drops Vitamin E Oil
5 drops Calendula essential oil
2-5 drops Peppermint essential oil
Mix all ingredients together and apply to the skin as needed. It feels better when you store in the refrigerator and apply when it is cool. “Wow, that feels so good”, as my son would say.
Another remedy that helps is to put baking soda in a warm bath.
The cost isn’t too bad, you just have to purchase everything up front but it should last all summer, depending on how much you use it and how many people are using it. It takes the burn out and soothes the skin almost immediately.
If you decide to try it I would love to hear your comments and also any other remedies for sunburn that you may have.
